Monterey Latin Mass Christmas Outreach 2015

Continuing our Christmas tradition, the Latin Mass Parish is organizing a gift drive for the families at the Jesus, Mary & Joseph Home. All families are new to the home this year, and there are also a few disabled adults staying there. Their needs and wants are modest. A gift tree will be out starting November 8th. with ornaments for each requested gift. When you select an ornament, you can place your name next to its number on our list. Gifts should be returned to our Mass site by December 12th. We will be presenting these gifts to the residents of the JMJ home on the 19th. of December. Any of you are welcome to come with us for this joyous celebration.

First Saturday Mass on November 7th., 2015

Please join us for First Saturday Mass on November 7th., 2015, at 12:00 noon. Confession will be available from 11:30 - 11:50 am. After Mass our Chaplain Fr. Nicholas Milich will impose the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on all those in attendance that are interested - blessed scapulars will be provided by the Legion of Mary. After the imposition of Scapular, all are invited to stay and pray the Rosary. Information about the Sabbatine Privilege will be available.
Following these events, there will be a meeting of the Legion of Mary, Our Lady of Good Success Praesidium. If anyone interested in joining in Our Lady's army for the salvation of souls, they are welcoming both active and auxiliary members.

Pope Benedict XV, addressing seminarians in Rome:
"Let all of you have a common language and a common armor: The language, the sentences of the Gospel - the common armor, the Brown Scapular of the Virgin of Carmel which you ought to wear and which enjoys the singular privilege and protection after death."

Pope Pius XII referred to the Scapular as “The Sign of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” The Pope also said the Scapular marks us as one of Mary’s chosen children, and becomes for us a “Garment of Grace.”
