JMJ Home Christmas outreach update
JMJ Home Christmas outreach update:
This coming Sunday I will have the JMJ Home tree set up again in the vestibule of Sacred Heart Church for anyone that was unable to pick an ornament, or maybe you want to grab another one.
There are 5 children ornaments and 6 mom gift card ornaments left. The amount on the gift card is your choice. It gives the mom a chance to buy whatever need may come up or get something for herself.
One mom is asking for pots, pans and dishes. She was a resident with her son and they just moved out 2 weeks ago. She has a steady job and was able to get a home of their own. That is why she is requesting those items.
We have been invited to the home on Saturday, December 17th. at 4:30. Bring the gifts and a dish to share. They so enjoy our presence and love to give thanks in person. If you are able to make it please R.S.V.P. to me, so that I can give the director an idea of numbers.
Thank you for opening your hearts and wallets this Advent season.
Update:
Happy Advent! This Sunday is the day to bring the gifts for the Jesus Mary Joseph home. Please bring the wrapped gifts with the name tag taped to the gift to the Sacred Heart Latin Mass. If you lost the tag please put the name on the gift, so it goes to the designated resident. If you would like to deliver the gifts yourself please join the residents at their home in Santa Cruz on Saturday, December 17th at 4:30. Bring the gifts and a dish to share. If you plan on attending please let me know by early next week, so I can give the director the number of us that will be coming. I will also give you the address when you R.S.V.P. Thank you again for making this year's Christmas Outreach a great success!

Sacred Heart Latin Mass Christmas outreach update, 2016
Sacred Heart Latin Mass Christmas outreach update:
Happy Advent!! Thank you to all those who took an ornament from our JMJ home tree. The Jesus Mary Joseph Home is located in Santa Cruz. It is a shelter for homeless mothers and their children. They also take in the terminally ill. It is a unique home in the community.
For the passed 5 years the Latin Mass community has brought the families gifts for Christmas. It is a special time of year to show God's love through charity and compassion. Here is a link to the home, so you can read up on this special place: http://www.stfrancissoupkitchen.org/jmj.html
If you did pick an ornament today please hold onto it. You will place the tag ornament on the wrapped gift and bring it before or after Mass up until December 11th.
If you would like to deliver the gifts yourself please do so and join our community for a Christmas Party at the home on Sat., Dec. 17th. at 4:30. More on the party in the weeks ahead.
The tree set up next Sunday on the 4th. for those who missed the chance to pick an ornament gift tag. We have plenty left over, so please be open to getting involved and helping those in need.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.

Receive O Lord, the saving oblation which we offer Thee on the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and grant that, as we confess her to have been preserved, by Thy prevenient grace, from all taint of evil, so, through her intersession, we may be freed from all sin, through Our Lord. Amen.

Restoring Sacred Heart Church - part 3
old choir loft railing
New choir loft railing
Here are before and after pictures of Sacred Heart Church's choir loft railing - a special thank you to Latin Mass parishioners Perry Hall and Adam Nannini for fabricating and installing the beautiful new railing this past week. Click the link below to see pictures from some of Sacred Heart’s construction, repair and improvement projects from this past year. Latin Mass parishioners have paid for and done repairs to and re-installment of the kneelers, repairs to the confessional, to the organ, restoration and installment of the altar, altar rail and altar steps, many other small repairs and improvements, plus the new choir loft railing is now compliant with safety laws. A huge thank you to all that have worked so hard to make our new parish home a more beautiful and safe environment for everyone~

Sacred Heart’s Latin Mass assistance
The new High Altar at Sacred Heart Church - Photo credit Linda Renz
This past Sunday at the Latin Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister, Chaplain Fr. Nicholas Milich mentioned in his sermon the need for parishioners to get more involved. Many people have asked how they can help; here is a list of needs and who to contact. Please contact one or more of the following people after Mass, or email Fr. Milich's secretary June Ely and mention what area you would like to assist in.
Altar Servers - This is the greatest area of need. All men and boys who have received First Communion are encouraged to learn how to serve at the altar. For more information on how you can serve, contact Altar Server coordinator Adam Nannini.
Music - You do not need to be a professional, or even musically trained. Just a voice, a willingness to learn, and a desire to worship is needed. Practice is held an hour before Mass. To inquire about joining the Schola, contact Music Director Greg Plese.
Hospitality - There is coffee and snacks after each Sunday Mass, if you would like to bring some food, or help set up or take down, contact Susie AmRhein.
Outreach & General Help - If you would like to help hand out Latin Mass information cards, welcome newcomers, put out flyers, or any other general help areas, contact Latin Mass Secretary June Ely.

All are invited to Low Mass for the Feast of the Assumption on Monday, August 15th., at 5:30 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hollister. Fr. Nicholas A. Milich will be the celebrant. Restoring Sacred Heart Church - part 2
Before the Monterey Latin Mass Community could move into our new home at Sacred Heart Catholic Church a lot of repairs and improvements needed to be made - our volunteers donated time, energy, and financial support to make this happen before the move in date. All work and supplies seen in the pictures below were generously donated in whole by the Monterey Latin Mass Community~
The Altar arrives, shipped from a consignor Back East. The Altar chosen was one
that looked the most like the original Gothic High Altar in Sacred Heart Church.
The new-to-us Altar needed some TLC
It gets fixed up and a fresh coat of paint
It was a lot of hard work to get the Altar moved into the church and installed
Our Chaplain Fr. Milich stops by to check on progress - he has a lunch break with Adam Nannini and the other volunteers. Thanks so much to all those who did so much to help, but especially to Adam who coordinated and implemented the vast majority of the repairs and improvements in Sacred Heart Church~
