Diocese of Monterey Latin Mass schedule


The former Chaplaincy of the Monterey Bay Area Latin Mass Community has fully merged with and become part of St. Benedict’s Parish in Hollister. Scheduling for the Traditional Latin Mass at Sacred Heart Church can be found by calling St. Benedict’s office at (831) 637-9212.

2017 Latin Mass Conference in Monterey


The Latin Mass Conference, sponsored by Keep The Faith and Latin Mass Magazine: The Journal of Catholic Culture and Tradition, invite all to the 15th. Annual Conference to be held in Monterey, California, the weekend of Saturday, February 25 - Sunday, February 26, 2017. The conference is especially for those committed to the timeless spiritual treasures of the Traditional Mass, and features a number of great traditional Catholic speakers, including Father James Buckley, FSSP, Father Joseph Illo, and Christopher Ferrara. Registration for the Latin Mass Conference includes a buffet lunch. The Traditional Latin Mass will be offered on both days.

Walk For Life West Coast 2017


All are invited to join the 13th. Annual Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco on Saturday, January 21st., 2017.

Info Faire before the Rally at Civic Center Plaza: 11:00 am -1:30 pm, 
Rally: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, 
Walk: 1:30 pm - will be walking on Market Street to Justin Herman Plaza. 

After the Walk for Life West Coast, a Sung High Mass will be celebrated for life by Fr. Francisco Nahoe, OFM Conv., who recently celebrated the High Masses at Sacred Heart in Hollister and at St. Paul's Church in Pismo Beach. St. Anne’s Schola of Palo Alto will accompany the Mass. Our Schola from Sacred Heart’s Latin Mass in Hollister has been invited to join St. Anne's Schola at the Mass. The Mass will start at 5:00 pm at National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi, 610 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, a short walk from the end of the Walk for Life.

16th. Annual High Mass in honor of St. Philomena



The Institute of Christ the King will have High Mass in honor of St. Philomena at Five Wounds Church in San Jose on Sat., August 13th., at 7:30 pm. Confession will be available starting at 7:00 pm. The 16th. annual celebration will also include the Litany of St. Philomena, a candle-light Rosary Procession, and Veneration of the first class relic of St. Philomena. Fr. Peter Carota - Rest In Peace

We are grieved to learn the news that Traditional Catholic priest Fr. Peter Carota, originally from Santa Cruz, CA., in the Diocese of Monterey, a great lover and promoter of the Traditional Latin Mass, has passed away following a long illness.
There will be a service for Fr. Carota at the Cathedral of The Annunciation in Stockton, California. It is located at 425 West Magnolia St., Stockton 95213. Beginning with a reception of the body on Thursday July 14th at 5:00pm. The Rosary will follow at 6:00pm and a vigil at 7:00pm.
Father Carota’s funeral will be on July 15th and 10:00am at the Cathedral of The Annunciation in Stockton, California. Procession following from Stockton, Ca to Ripon, Ca.
Graveside service: 19399 W Hwy. 120, Ripon, Ca 95366 at St. John Cemetery.

One Requiem Mass was already celebrated on the evening of Fr. Carota's passing at St. Catherine of Siena (Phoenix, AZ), which is available for viewing at Sancta Missa’s YouTube page.  The following is a list of other upcoming Traditional Latin Requiem Masses:
